Richard Rain-Corvette
2023 brought us a lot of amazing music and with that, some new artists and producers. One of the many who stood out to me is Richard Rain-Corvette.
One thing I love about social media is that sometimes something amazing will fall into your feed based on algorithms, the friends you have and shared interests. A few months back I came across a beautiful dreamlike song called ‘The Drift’, the first single Richard dropped form his ‘Summer Talk’ EP. I instantly had to reach out to him to sing my praises on the song. I thought it was beautiful and seriously well produced. Soon after the EP came out on cassette and I picked up the pink neon beauty containing a further 5 songs.
A couple of singles have been released since ‘Summer Talk’, starting with ‘Ultra Magnus’ and then finishing up the year with some festive sparkle on ‘Christmas Time Is Here’.
I have had a few chats with Richard and he’s a really lovely guy with immense talent. What I appreciate about his style is that he’s not trying to sound like anyone else or copy what’s already out there, he’s putting his own flavour into the modern retro space!
If you ask me he’s going to be one to watch this year!
